In addition, the narrow particle size distribution guarantees high and uniform packing densities in the column; this enables the column packing to be used for long periods of time and produces reproducible separating results. The Guarantee for Selectivity, Reproducibility and Quality Selectivity is one of the most important factors in chromatography. It is decisive in determining the quality and the reproducibility of a chromatographic separation and in addition, on a preparative scale, it also determines, to a large extent, the yield. In order to be able to guarantee the batch-to-batch reproducibility over a period of years, it is not only sufficient to carry out a simple performance test using aromatic substances. We provide comprehensive selectivity documentation and carry out an additional selectivity test routinely for each batch release. This selectivity test, which is carried out using special solutes under exactly defined practice-oriented chromatographic conditions, serves to determine the smallest change in the selectivity properties of the sorbent. Merck KGaA can therefore guarantee that LiChroprep packing materials will produce reproducible results within very narrow band ranges. This provides the highest degree of reliability for chromatographic separations and purifications in the laboratory, pilot plant and production. |
