Merck OLED Materials GmbH, based in Frankfurt, Germany designs,
manufactures and markets high performance advanced materials for
displays and other electronics applications. The company is one
of the leading manufacturers of materials for organic light emitting
diodes (OLED).
The company offers both high-performance
small molecule and conjugated polymer OLED materials on a commercial
scale.
The company was formed on April 1, 1999 as Covion Organic Semiconductors
GmbH. In March 2005 Merck KGaA acquired Covion from Avecia and integrated
it into its Liquid Crystal Division. In August 2005 Covion was
renamed to Merck OLED Materials GmbH.
